Stomping Ground is a six-month arts and education project for 60 young people from North Tyneside and Northumberland, who have worked together with creative professionals including musicians, visual artists, historians and cinematographers, to produce their very own multimedia art-films.

These films are inspired by the North East – the place our young artists call home. Their films will explore the region in 3 ways, considering its nature, its industry, and its culture. Our young filmmakers lead on creative decisions and research, write, animate, perform, record, compose and produce their films themselves, supported by our team of artists.

As well as regular creative workshops, our young filmmakers go on inspiration gathering trips to the National Glass Centre, Newcastle Theatre Royal, and Saltholme RSPB Nature Reserve.

The Stomping Ground films shine a light on the rich and sometimes surprising connections between people, space and the natural world, that make the North East such a unique place to live.
