We provide a pathway of projects from pre-year 7 to Year 10, focussing on:
– growing cultural and social capital
– boosting confidence and self esteem
– developing resilience
– providing careers guidance and experience
Pre Year 7: a FREE 1-2 day summer school
Based at school, this project is designed to familiarise vulnerable and disadvantaged students with the school, allow school staff to meet them before Y7 begins, and support transition from primary to secondary education.
Year 7: a FREE 1-2 day project
Based outside of school in a museum, heritage site, theatre or concert hall, this project introduces students to cross-disciplinary creative learning and boosts cultural capital, opening doors for students by showing them that the arts can be for them.
Year 8 & Year 9: a FREE 6-month project
Fortnightly workshops in school with creative practitioners. This project expands horizons by being ambitious about what the students can achieve, as they create a professional industry standard film together, which is premiered at Tyneside Cinema, Newcastle.
Year 10: 1-1 creative mentoring, full academic year
Weekly 1-to-1 mentoring sessions for 12-18 PP students, based at school, capitalising on the creative and social skills, and working to keep them excited about learning, keeping attendance and positivity high.
Cost: £31.90 per student/ per half hour session.

Over the course of each project, students work together with artists, musicians, academics to create a performance piece, film or sound walk. The creative process is student-led and we develop these projects directly in relation to the needs, ideas and ambitions of participating students. Every aspect of the final product is created by the students – whether that’s researching, writing, rehearsing, creating, recording or promoting.
We work in partnership with local archives, museums, Universities, libraries, and other sites of interest to delivery the project. This means we’re able to take participating children on exciting trips to places where their learning can be further enriched and their horizons can be further stretched.
